Dr. Alexandra Talaber OD, FCOVD, FAAO, is a board certified Neuro Optometrist (sometimes called a Behavioral Optometrist or Developmental Optometrist) and fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Talaber is an active educator and researcher who has published many research articles in esteemed medical journals. She specializes in diagnosing and treating vision performance conditions including binocular vision disorders, learning-related vision problems, strabismus, amblyopia, post-concussion and traumatic brain injury vision syndrome. She studied at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she graduated with honors.
While attending the Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Talaber earned the prestigious I.C.O. Trustee Scholarship all four years, recognizing academic achievement and excellence in community service. Dr. Talaber went on to earn the Irwin B. Suchoff Residency in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation at the State University of New York College of Optometry. She was then appointed as Clinical Professor at the SUNY College of Optometry, where Dr. Talaber instructed optometry residents in the areas of vision therapy and rehabilitation.
